Or maybe you prefer a bustling downtown, city lights and the sound of a train rolling down the tracks. It’s your go-to place. When you need a break from reality. A chance to recharge your batteries. Texas is full of those secret hideaways. Even if they aren’t so secret. And we want to know your favorite places to go! So get those cameras clicking! The deadline for Your Secret Texas Hideaway photo submissions will be Tuesday, Dec. 1. The contest is limited to Texas Farm Bureau members and their immediate families. “Texas has a special place for everyone. That’s why we love it here so much,” said Mike Barnett, editor of Texas Farm Bureau’s Texas Agriculture and Texas Neighbors . “From the country to the city, there’s a secret getaway that inspires, yet relaxes, folks.” Photos can include scenery and people. It might be the view from your front porch, an oak tree shading a stock tank or a thriving city. First place wins a $250 cash prize. Second place garners $200. And two runners-up will win $100 each. Contestants are limited to one entry per person. As in years past, both digital and printed pho-tographs may be submitted. To enter, follow these simple rules: 1. Digital entries should be emailed to photocontest@txfb.org. For publication purposes, photos must be at least 1024 X 768 pixels or higher. 2. Print entries may be mailed to Photo Contest, TFB Public Relations Division, P.O. Box 2689, Waco, TX 76702-2689. A self-addressed, stamped envelope needs to accompany your print photo en-try if you want your photograph returned. 3. Include a brief description regarding the entry, plus the participant’s name, address, telephone number and valid Texas Farm Bureau membership number.
